Kaiyu Huang (黄锴宇)

I am a research assistant professor at the School of Computer Science and Technology of Beijing Jiaotong University, forming the Language Intelligence Explorer (LIE) Lab. I received ACL 2023 Outstanding Paper Award. I was a postdoc at the Institute for AI Industry Research (AIR) of Tsinghua University, working with Prof. Yang Liu. I obtained a Ph.D. degree in the School of Computer Science at Dalian University of Technology (09.2021), advised by Prof. Degen Huang.

LIE favors the following research perspectives with three talking groups, including Multilingual AI (X-Group), Multimodal LLMs (MM-Group) and Smart Urban (Geo-Group).

❗️News:

• 2025.3: We release OmniGeo, a multimodal LLM tailored to geospatial applications, capable of processing and analyzing heterogeneous data sources, including satellite imagery, geospatial metadata, and textual descriptions. [arXiv]
• 2025.1: We release Migician, the first multi-image grounding model capable of performing free-form and accurate grounding across multiple images. We present the MGrounding-630k dataset, which comprises data for several multi-image grounding tasks derived from existing datasets, along with newly generated free-form grounding instruction-following data.
